ABOUT: Mojo Nixon was born Neill Kirby McMillan Jr. on August 2, 1957, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He started making psychobilly music (blends rockabilly with punk rock) in the '80s, mostly with Skid Roper (not much known about Skid Roper, beyond being born Richard Banke, October 19, 1954, in National City, California, and specializing in percussion music). The pair hit semi-fame on MTV with their 1986 hit "Elvis Is Everywhere." MTV eventually broke ties with Nixon when they refused to play his song "Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Love Child." Nixon and Roper parted ways in 1989. Both made solo albums. Nixon retired from the music business in 2004. He hosted The Loon in the Afternoon radio show on Sirius XM. He passed away on February 7, 2024. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Mojo Nixon starred in the world-conquering CLASSIC 1993 film Super Mario Bros., playing the part of Toad. (Skid Roper cameo'd as Goomba #7.) Mojo Nixon's tombstone has "R.I.P. TOAD" written on it.
DISCOGRAPHY: There are six albums made by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper together, between 1985 and 1990, and this is the fourth. Nixon has two solo albums, a few live albums and bootlegs, plus three more albums under the moniker Mojo Nixon and the Toadliquors, which, I mean, c'mon!!! (Though their first album came out in 1992, a year before the CLASSIC 1993 film Super Mario Bros., so maybe he got the role because his backing band had "Toad" in its name? So many questions!!!)
