Yearlong Song Challenge, Day 120: Sunny

Prompt: "A song that has the word 'title' in the title"

Selected by Sunny

"Working Title"
Silversun Pickups
B-side single to "Let It Decay," 2013

Here's a working draft. I don't care for Silversun Pickups. I nearly forgot the name of this song and thought I made it up because it's not on Spotify. I'm not sure if the title is supposed to be tongue in cheek, and I don't care for that. I don't care for the singers' vocal fried timbre. I don't care for big single "Lazy Eye," which was on Guitar Hero or Rock Band or something like that. I don't care for the lazy (heh) songwriting paired with the heavier-than-they-should-be guitar tracks. I don't care for the fact this band has a bigger cultural cache than I can logically understand.

2006's Carnavas caught me during my formative years, and I will defend it—and "Lazy Eye" especially—to the death. I cannot speak to anything that's happened in the past eighteen years, however.

Nate and I (and our band The Percentages) once covered Lazy Eye at a show at La Salle’s coffee shop whose name I can’t recall right now.
