I came across this group (YouTube channel?) when looking for modern covers of 1950s songs. The desecration of old things seems to be more common these days, right? But that's not really what Postmodern Jukebox is. In this case, they take newer music and apply older styles to it. Still not exactly the kind of music I'd pop on shuffle, but I'll give them a nod for creativity.
In a way, it's almost more fitting for the aesthetic of shitty Netflix. In my mind's eye, the movie looks and feels like an episode of Glee. Somehow, Lea Michele is still the lead. She feels stuck between her lady gang of poodleskirters and her football boyfriend. Maybe they can swing Steve Harrington for some bad boy Greaser trying to steal her away.
Yuck, I hate it already.
