This song is dated and weird. Granted, the Jackson 5's harmonies sound amazing, but something about the children's voices really throw me off. The young innocent vocals, the too-much talk-singing, the dumb "kids are so stupid" plot... it's just tough all around. I feel like this song could be remade in a silly, goofy, or even horny way if perspectives are changed, but this original will always be tough.

I never knew if the implication of this song was that 1) the mom was cheating on the dad with some guy who was dressed like Santa Claus, or 2) dad was dressed as Santa Claus, and mom and dad were sharing a monogamous kiss, which confused the kid because they didn't recognize dad. Or I guess technically 3) Santa is real in the universe that this song takes place in, and he fucks moms.
