AIM was so silly and fun when I was in middle school! I think by the time I arrived in high school, it was dead and gone, but dang, it was glorious when it was the cool thing to do. I somehow got the username of a boy who went to our rival middle school, and I thrived messaging a stranger. I feel like that sounds bad, and even at the time it felt very secretive, but looking back it was so dumb!! I'll never forget our first day in high school. I was so excited to meet this guy I had been chatting with for the past two years, and our last names were close together, so we were in the same homeroom. And then he freaking ignored me!!! I was so sad, but then realized he was such a tool and that it was for the better. Fuck that guy forever (he's now annoyingly an anesthesiologist and married his high school sweetheart and last time I was home he ignored me as we walked by each other), but I wish him nothing but the best.

When it comes to bozos from grade school and high school, my theory is: you gotta take 'em to task, and always confront them at the supermarket. Say hi. Make awkward small talk. Punish them for even thinking about ignoring you.
Something very correct about the Good Charlotte representation today
