I didn't leave the house today. I did, technically, but just to do menial tasks (d/o and then p/u girls from art class, fill tires at Wawa air pump, pick up car from mechanic). I didn't spend time outside, and more importantly, I didn't do any exercising. Which is not necessary every day, and I'm not upset by it (my right leg is giving me issues today and so it was also not upset with the lack of exercise and strain). But my point to say all this is that I spent a day just chilling and not really all that hungry. Or at least not as hungry as I usually am.
Which is a fascinating feeling. Do people live their entire lives like this? What would it be like if I spent my existence having to remind myself to eat? What would the scale say? I got a small taste of it today, when it was 5 PM and I was like, oh shit, I guess I better have dinner. I might not have remembered if I wasn't with a baby and a cat who were more hungry than I was. So that was cool. I feel satisfied and I was like 300 calories below the limit. (That's not sustainable, of course, but maybe it means I have room to go over a bit tomorrow.)
I know I'm making progress, and I know it's going to be slow progress, and I'm trying (and mostly succeeding, but not always) to have patience. I still feel the extra weight as I lie here in bed at the end of the night. Maybe that's all mental. The only way to find out is to hold myself accountable for at least 87 more days.
