In My Place 130

I think they want us to believe it is a sad thing, the husbands and fathers, the children and sons and daughters, all huddled around the large floral displays for purchase, here at 8 AM on the morning of a major flower-buying holiday. But it is not. Not a sad thing. It's a joyous thing. We here are the ones who cared enough to make the effort, no matter how miniscule. It's a binary: to care or to not care. The presence here and now is proof that the choice was to care.

And plus, if we're all the only ones here, me and my three daughters and everyone like us, then that means that all the moms are sleeping in at home.
