No better way to kick off summer than some hyperpop. The problem with listening to pop music on YouTube is the algorithm loves to push additional content. I've seen so many clips of Slayyyter talking about the album from the same interview.
There's something def familiar here. Memories of Spears, Goulding, Starfucker. I had to double check that Starfucker is indeed a band and a Slayyyter album. Take that familiar sound and draw it out to some logical conclusion.
Slayyyter will tell you "CHANEL$" is the best thing she's produced, and that's probably right. This is the correct fusion of trap-house Midwest rap and pop Eurodance to make an addicting fun song. The rest of the album is playing around at different points in that spectrum to better or worse degrees. "LOVERZ" has a certain charm, "TECHNOLOGY" is fun, and I personally dig that old technology, and "CRANK" works because I dig seeing pretty women with large guns, even better if they're pointed at me. It's also been less than a year since I've heard a dramatic song centered around a gas/petrol station.
I've gotten used to typing y three times in a row. Slayyyter believes she hasn't sold out, and that she's the artist a younger her would stan. I like that; I bet a Slayyyter show would be a great time.
