When Sunny picked this album, my first thought that it was going to be a challenge for Record Club. But that's not really true, or at least might not be. My reaction was really just borne of feeling challenged to say something here in the Sunday write-up, seeing as it's not streaming on the popular streaming services, it's only on YouTube in full-album-in-on-video form, and the band hasn't left much of an imprint online whatsoever. Then again, so fucking what? We're here for the music. When we start listening to it, no one is going to care about the Sunday write-up. The music discovery is why we're here. Let's begin.

ALBUM TITLE: I've seen it listed with proper capitalization and spaces in between the words, but I think it's more fun to go with the one-word lowercase style, so without any way to confirm what's correct, let's just go with what's more fun (and, for the record, what is printed on the album cover)

ABOUT: No Wikipedia, no official site, no interviews that I could find, just piecing together a few small bites of info from around the web, without this small-town operation of a blog being able to verify any of it. Fibulator was a '90s San Francisco art punk band. They consisted of—on this album, at least—Kris Langan (vocals), Sarah Arvey (vocals), Jerry Brownrigg (guitar), Ken Holt (bass), Geoff Soule (drums), and Chris "Heco" Davis (reeds). Other names I've seen who were in the band prior to this album are Perry Young (guitar) and Chris Whittal (drums). They were active from at least 1990 to 1995. This blurb has some details about what its members did post-Fibulator. This is what the San Francisco Bay Guardian had to say: "The thing about Fibulator is, you can't absorb it all at once. You need to dig, and the deeper you dig, the more you'll find."

DISCOGRAPHY: This is the third of four albums for the band. There was a self-titled in 1991, Even from Here You Look Big in 1992, and then unhammerlike in 1994.

READING SOME SHIT: Not much on here! Here's the website where I got some of the nuts-and-bolts info, as well as a good picture of the band (oh shit, what are we gonna do for the reviews' header pictures this week?!)

WATCHING SOME SHIT: Literally nothing for this one! Best I could do was search "fibulator band live" and then scroll down to the "people also watched" section and find Heco Davis playing at Heco's Palace in 2008, and I'm assuming that this is the same Heco Davis who plays reeds and woodwinds on this album, and I'm assuming that it is his own concert venue, since "Heco" isn't really a common name? Are these assumptions too big?

RECORD CLUB CONNECTIONS: No direct connections this week. But San Francisco seems to loom large over Fibulator's story, so let's name all the other RC San Fran artists: Grateful Dead, underscores, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Hannah Cohen.

MENTIONS ON THE BLOG: No, I've never heard of them, certainly not from the blog. However, I did recognize at least one name from around the blog—Negativland. Apparently members of Fibulator and Negativland made the band Mono Pause at some point, meaning that these dudes were in the same scene. I also recognized Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, a band that Fibulator played a few shows with in 1995, despite never having listened to that band. I just assumed I recognized them from the blog, but I can't find any evidence of that. Any help?
