When I imagine background music, it's a piano jazz type thing. But reggae works pretty well too—it just conjures an image of a different type of bar. This album cruises in that lane: easy listening, funky, reggae pop background jams. It's good stuff. They show they can explore styles to explore spaces—"Fairy Tales" has this punchy opening guitar and Parisian accordion to make you think of a Ratatouille cafe. "Moodswings" conjures the feeling of a fairytale. And from "Australopithecus" on the band shows what it can do putting it all together in a solid one-two followed by the outro. This is where you might put down whatever else you're doing and pick up your ears a bit. Not the most memorable album of all time, but fun through and through and reminds me of '00s ska/pop that pervades my adolescent memories.

Go Go Diva was definitely a foreign album. probably because it was sung in italian. Watch Out! was foreign-ish. you could probably guess it wasn't occidental. this band has an accent, sure, but if i wasn't told i'd probably assume this was a us/uk band playing with pastiche.
