Combined impressions: the beer was much too strong, even for a shrimp risotto that fought back valiantly. That was my fault—for some reason, the beer label gave me the impression that it was a Belgian Blonde, but the internet is telling me now that it was a "Belgian Strong Pale," which is apparently a thing. Oh well. A white shrimp risotto and a normal Belgian abbey ale might be a better pairing in the future.
