I loved this album. A self-proclaimed Grinch, I found myself continually looping this album. Ben Folds has completely encapsulated the modern holiday experience in Sleigher. "Sleepwalking Through Christmas" is the anthem for the lost and lonely during the season. "We could have this" is for the situationships of years past. With seven original songs and three covers, it was surprisingly fresh and different. Folds shows off his composition chops with "Little Drummer Bolero" and "Waiting for Snow." And "Waiting for Snow" could have been twice as long. The cover songs seemed very carefully chosen. All classics, with two not being from the pile of usual suspects. This album also gets high marks from me because the Apple Music algorithm after it was over absolutely slapped.
