If I had to choose a song to designate Shane's and my song, it'd probably be this one. Pinpointing the exact time and place where we first heard it together in some significant way is difficult, but for as long we've been together, this song has felt like a part of our story.
Once again proving my brother's K*** Sibling Music Theory correct, a good deal of the chapters of that story relate to live music—a NYE spent with Heads cover band Start Making Sense at World Cafe Live is a highlight for sure. But it's not all concert halls and flashy shows, I promise.
It's also Bloody Marys at the airport bar waiting for our flight to Mexico to start boarding. Hearing that song right then, with lots of good times ahead that week, it felt meant to be. Like the walk out song before a title match or right before Bryce Harper smacks a home run. But even better, because it's the hype-up for our life together.
So yeah, I guess you could say it is our song.

Just casually dropping into a Talking Heads post the fact that you're flying to Mexico. I'm calling it right now: Brianna and Shane are eloping.
They better not, it would be a betrayal of previously-blogged beliefs! We have the tapes!
My mother has confirmed that Brianna is not currently abroad. So the airport thing wasn't happening WHILE she was writing the blog post. It was probably the MMJ vacation from a couple years ago. That's my bad!
