Yearlong Song Challenge, Day 73: Zach

Prompt: "A song that will always make you think about something that someone wrote about it"

Selected by Zach

Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin
Until Now, 2012

Back in my blogging days I got a few shoutouts on Nate's blog. One of his blog posts from that era has stuck in my head to this day. The song "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia has the lyric "Don't you worry child / see heaven's got a plan for you." Nate heard the lyric as "Ciara's got a plan for you." Every time I hear this song—which still happens in 2024—I think about Ciara having a plan for me, and I chuckle to myself. A throwaway line written on a blog in 2013 has become a source of an inside joke between me and myself. I don't think I've ever shared this with Nate.

I was at a meal a couple years ago and we did an icebreaker before we started eating (not uncommon in my life these days). I forgot what the prompt was, but I shared to a group of fifteen mostly strangers that I always heard this lyric this way. It's unclear what they all thought of me after that.
