Prompt: "A song that was ahead of its time"
Selected by Pam
"Tomorrow Never Knows"
The Beatles
Revolver, 1966
I've always loved this song. It's just as good now as I'm sure it was back in '66 when Revolver was released. I'll never forget the ending to an episode of Mad Men when this song was used. It was sort of like ushering out the old and bringing in the new in the ad agency office. It definitely created a feeling of transition. Plus, listening to it generally just makes you feel cool. I very seriously thought about walking down the aisle to this song at our wedding (ended up going with "Catch the Wind" by Donovan).
