While the overall concept of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is a Bonnie and Clyde-esque tail of two lovers gunned down in the desert, the opening track is actually about Gerard Way coming to terms with his grandmother's death. The death of grandparent is traumatizing enough, but it was magnified by the fact that he and his brother, who plays bass for MCR, were raised by their grandparents. This album is incredible.
