Prompt: "A song about beginnings"
Selected by Stephan
"Feeling Good"
Nina Simone
I Put a Spell on You, 1965
To kick things off for PoYB's Summer Song Challenge, I have selected Nina Simone's version of "Feeling Good." There are so many covers of this song, but Nina's, for me, is a cut above the rest—powerful, hopeful, and rejuvenating. This song embodies the spirit of optimism and the bright promise of new beginnings. The official start of summer is just around the corner, and I am feelin' good!
