I tried to find the quote from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince when Harry and Dumbledore are in the cave and Dumbledore starts drinking the potion so that they can get the Hocrux but the potion drives him insane and by the ninth goblet of potion he's screaming "I want to die! I want to die! Kill me!!!" I was thinking about it because we just read this chapter two nights ago (the chapter in which he actually dies had to be stopped short tonight because everyone fell asleep). But I was also thinking about it because I think about these words every time I go to my parents' to pick up the kids in the summer, and they are still in the pool when I get there. I do everything but beg my parents to get them out of the pool before I get there. But it's never happened. They are always swimming in the pool. Then they all groan because they see me, and that makes me feel like shit. Then they start whining and complaining and saying "five more minutes!" over and over. Seeing my kids after a grueling day at the child abuse prevention factory should be the best part of my day, but it's slowly morphed into the worst, because the pool brings out the worst in these people. It's the weekend; the pool cannot hurt me now.
