Destiny's Child's 1999 album The Writing's on the Wall is everything I remember it to be. This was a pivotal album in my adolescence and the beginning of a life-long Beyoncé (and Kelly Rowland) fandom. From remembrance, the album was inspiring, girl-power, cool, and fun!! Listening to it again, it is still all those things. I do notice that it's a little cheesy, and only the singles stand out. "Bug a Boo," "Bills Bills Bills," and "Say My Name" are all early 2000s classics, making appearances on nostalgic playlists and power hours. Those can hold up 20 years later, but the intros and outros have GOT TO GO. Let us thank Destiny's Child for running, so Beyoncé could walk today.
