Album of the Week: Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost — Part 2

Interesting—this is the first time in Record Club that we will be reviewing a sequel to something we already reviewed... and more generally, it's the first time we are reviewing a band's work for the second time. I wonder if that'll effect people's opinions of the album. Let's find out!

Of course, if you are simply interested in exploring the previous 37 weeks of Record Club, there are plenty of links to various archives along the right sidebar. If you want to dive into this week's pick, continue below!

WEEK 38 — October 20-26, 2019

What we're listening to this week (Brianna's choice):

ALBUM: Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost — Part 2
ARTIST: Foals

RELEASED: October 18, 2019

WHAT GENRE IS THIS: Alternative rock

WHY BRIANNA PICKED IT: "Foals is one of my favorite bands. Part 1 was a great, lighthearted dance album, but Part 2 is rock-heavy, and that is what they do best, in my opinion. I also hear that there were parts of Part 1 brought back in layers in the new stuff, so that should be cool, to see how it comes together."

TRACKLIST:

1. Red Desert
2. The Runner
3. Wash Off
4. Black Bull
5. Like Lightning
6. Dreaming Of
7. Ikaria
8. 10,000 Ft.
9. Into the Surf
10. Neptune

READING SOME SHIT: This one from NME seems promising (it's interesting to me when the band has their picture taken for the feature, but then the written part of the feature describes the process of taking the picture, like, shouldn't the process be reversed?).

Happy listening, fam! Have a great week!
