Here's an album that's totally an album, and totally fine. It feels like it's traveled through time and space to get to me. On one hand, it feels modern and contemporary, and on another, it feels like an artifact of an older, homespun hip hop. It feels both western and not western in its production and lyricism. It's all totally competent, though I do grow tired of Noga's style of pop-rap and style of beats a few trips through the album.
I don't exactly know what's being gone for here, thematically, which feels like a cultural/age gap mostly. I can dig "Sad Generation" for sure, but less for "Dumb" or "PC People," which are either too on-the-nose and too obtuse to be fun or cutting. The random drops of other artists not here, the Buffalo Bill thing, the iPhone ringtone, etc. is all a little jarring in a flow.
The grime-y beats production (really clear in "PC People," "AYAYAY") is probably what gives me the most "this is not American hip hop" vibes, for better or worse. It's a nice change of pace to what I'm dining on any average day.
The soft rock/pop songs are random as hell, and a mix of quality as far as filler goes. The even more random but catchy Spanish song is oddly fun. All in all, the work leaves me feeling somewhere between head bopping and dumb.

As a total P.S., How many albums from now on out will have some meta take on AI making songs? We already have this and Ben Folds in a couple month span. It’s all very in vogue.
