Luke's Garage, Nate

Dynamite name, first and foremost.

An observation achieved honestly is that this is not the picture one conjures when on thinks of "guitar-focused instrumental noodling." DS deserves credit for bucking a jazzy-forward or wall-of-sound style psychic freakout and instead writing what boils down to a bunch of well-constructed-if-not-always-technically-advanced rock licks. To operate in the jam-band oeuvre and reject the conventions of the form is notable, and perhaps admirable.

An observation achieved somewhat dishonestly—and you can go to Sam's review if you want to find the source—is that this whole record feels less like a work of intention and more like the kind of WebClips free-source music and sound FXs CDs that companies would produce at the onset of the internet so that websites had sound effects and call center lines had background music. This isn't Music for Airports, this is Music for Being On Hold WITH Trendy Dentist's Office.

In closing: Delicate Steve! Such a great name!
