As Puke on Your Birthday's second-best and second-most consistent voice of musical context, guidance, and criticism, Sunny continues to sharpen and evolve his voice. So too must those who watch the watchmen upgrade their game to keep up with our lead trout, forever swimming upstream against the lesser peons of this blog's poisoned, brackish riverbed. And so this year we rank the ways in which Sunny left us wanting more, left us with one to grow on, or otherwise put a bow on things: final sentences from his reviews. Footnotes and postscripts were not eligible for consideration.
I will not be linking back to the reviews because I am too lazy. I do, however, take a cruel joy in knowing that Joe's misfiring brain will require him to track these down. Vaya con dios, you fucker, this is what you get for the crime dog. [Editor's note: Worth it, bitch.]
10-8, see: Faint Praise, Damnation by
10) "I'm glad everyone who had fun, had fun." (Lumos)
9) "Some familiar, some different, some same song with different meaning." (Version Galore)

7-5, Scenes from the next episode of The White Lotus
7) I figure the algorithm is already on it. (Heard It in a Past Life)
6) Simple pleasures are the best. (Simple Pleasures)
5) I don't even know how to write Cyrillic letters how does the keyboard look on that side of the world anyway? (Пушка)
4-1, You know, kids, Shakespeare was kind of like the original rapper.
4) Life is bitter sweet. (Years to Burn)
3) Keep being crazy you crazy kids. (Free Your Mind!)
2) Really feels like everyone is having a real good time, and I am too. (Electric Warrior)
1) Shine on you crazy melon.* (Fine Line)
P.S. Needed to add this in honor of my man. The top closing sentence from this year has been living rent-free in my mind since I read it a couple of days ago. I said, out loud, to my cat last night, "Shine on you crazy melon." I have been Sunny-pilled. Was I a sleep agent all along? Did this activate/radicalize me? What the hell, Sunny?
