The idea is to go one level deeper. Instead of having the members of Record Club pick the Album of the Week, let's find people who were merely mentioned in a previous Record Club album review, and let's have them pick the Album of the Week.

WEEK 135 — August 29-September 4, 2021
What we're listening to this week:
ALBUM: Power Chords
ARTIST: Mike Krol
WHO "PICKED" THE ALBUM: Uncle Greg
THE REVIEW HE WAS FEATURED IN: Well, seeing as he was the artist who created RC album Not Even Regret, he was featured, more or less, in all three reviews for that album. But if you consider that a cheat, then he was also mentioned in Nate's Fyah review from a year and a half prior.
HOW WE ENDED UP HERE: Uncle Greg was always going to be the easy ask for Nate during Two Degrees of Record Club. Nate had no qualms telling him that his own music was up for critique in Record Club, so I can't imagine that it would be too hard to convince Uncle Greg to pick someone else's music for review.
We tried some other options for Nate, but they all seemed to be out of the realm of possibility. No one knows the annoying freshman guitar player's name; Nate allegedly attempted to contact his old coworker via Facebook, to no response; Nate has made it very clear that he refuses to review albums chosen by fictional characters, so Frank Sabotka was out; and so on.
So here we are with Uncle Greg's pick, and unlike everyone else in Two Degrees of Record Club, he was able to include a "WHY HE CHOSE IT" reason: "Because I feel it was, unjustly, somewhat overlooked, and I'm curious to see what the pervert community has to say about it." Either Nate embellished that quote, or all A****es speak the same way.
WILL UNCLE GREG WRITE A REVIEW: I doubt it. I doubt even Nate is going to write a review, seeing as how this Album of the Week post is going up the same weekend his daughter is due to be born. But, as always, we shall see!

PREVIOUSLY ON RECORD CLUB: There are two here, and you can tell me which one is a bigger stretch. 1) The producer for this album, Mike McCarthy, has also produced an album for Fastball. 2) Mike Krol's first album is called I Hate Jazz, and if you'll direct your attention back to Nate's Fyah review, you might begin to understand why Uncle Greg picked this artist.
