First thought best thought wins again. The Olympics are interesting. It's the only time that American patriotism doesn't feel (too) icky. It's the only time many of these sports are widely available on TV. I remember in college, it must have been the 2010 Winter Olympics, we spent an entire class period discussing the rules and gameplay of curling. It was on TV earlier that day, and someone came into class like, "Yo, what the fuck is curling," and it was probably a Comm class, and what did we really have to learn that day, so we talked about curling for 45 minutes. This year, I happened to be home during the men's rugby finals, and thank god I was. I still don't understand the rules of rugby, but I know it is a sport dominated by some of the best-looking athletes I have ever seen. You try watching egg-ball-hand-soccer and not get distracted by Fiji's Selestino Ravutaumada. Congrats on the silver (and your magnificent smile), by the way. Women's rugby finals tomorrow morning. It's like an early birthday gift. Thanks, Olympics!
