A cool, introspective thing to say about finding a band you love later in life is you can tie a lot of life's experiences to that band's music. I cannot be introspective about White Reapers because the band absolutely rips. They're simply just a really good rock band, which is pretty hard to find today. They're not punk or metal, just rock.
Their first couple of albums have a sloppy, garage feel to their music. Their last two albums are much more refined, but the style of Asking for a Ride came out of nowhere. I'm not sure why/how they went the hardcore / hair metal / pop rock route, but I found it pretty tough to turn off, because I was waiting to hear what was next. It's one of the more fun listens of 2023.
