READING SOME SHIT: Not a whole lot! It doesn't help that Google insists that when I search "magic toaster" I really mean "brave little toaster." The only thing I could find was this blurb for a Magic Toaster concert this Friday. In a different world, we're all going to that concert to celebrate another successful week of Record Club, but, only speaking for me personally, I don't think I'm at the point in my life that I could reasonably travel to New York City to see a concert on a Friday night.
PREVIOUSLY ON RECORD CLUB: This reads to me like it's going to be similar to Hidden Things, both because of the (assumed) NY-rock-n-roll feel of it, and also because they both were picked by the album picker because they personally knew the artist. Though maybe the NY of it all is a façade—Magic Toaster, like Vulfpeck, is actually from Ann Arbor. So we'll see!
Otherwise, it's pretty cool to feature an artist in this club that I'm sure most of us (if not all of us) have never even heard of. I like when that happens. This will be the 23rd time it's happened for me in the past 178 weeks. How about you?
Happy listening, fam! Have a great week!
