Honest, Sunny

In this album I hear more of the intervening nine years of radio and internet hip hop concentrated than I have anywhere else. Hooks like "Move That Dope" are sticky and fill the pop thirst. The features are generally great, even those individuals who have really fallen down in the past nine years. Future's mumbles feel both familiar and exemplary. Overall, it's enjoyable, digestible, and layered.

The closing "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" sends home a message from such a prolific artist, needing to be noted as much for quantity as for quality. Or perhaps it is a lesson in how when quantity & perseverance meet talent, cornucopias of work can abound.
