I was excited to listen to this album! I heard one of Pool Kids' songs come up on my Spotify random shuffle playlists and it caught my attention. It was called "Conscious Uncoupling," and it was on the album they released in 2022. It was kind of a quirky indie poppy tune. I even added it to my 2026 playlist (which I should mention is not made up of songs that came out in 2026 but songs that I am liking in the year 2026 AD).
I listened to this album two or three times on my way to work throughout the week. I really liked the first song, the title track "Easier Said Than Done." But after that, I must admit the songs all kind of sounded the same to me. I'm not sure if it was because I was having the week from hell and was distracted, but before I knew it, the album was over and I wasn't sure if it was one long song or not. Nothing really stood out and grabbed my attention like their one song on their album from 2022. However, I think the band is still good. Their songs flow and sound good. I like the singer's style, I like their overall sound, and the album was certainly not bad. I enjoyed it. If someone asked me if I'd go to see Pool Kids playing live, I absolutely would. I haven't listened to their self-titled album, but maybe I'll check it out.
