Boy, oh boy. This was my genre. This song isn't a deep cut by any means, but the prompt asked for *the* song that I think of... and Bridget already chose "Welcome to the Black Parade" for a different prompt. Although this is probably the song that defines emo to me. The moody boys, the troubling lyrics, the screaming towards the end... it's perfect. I can so clearly picture the video with the signature Adam Lazzara microphone swing. It's almost as memorable as their "You're So Last Summer" video. Wait, I know that Taking Back Sunday is mainstream emo, but again, you're asking me to think as broadly as possible... but did I pick the wrong song? Is "Cute Without the 'E'" more emo than this song? I mean, Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend was my way into this genre, should I have gone with something from that? Whatever, who cares, "MadeDamnSure" it is, and I'm blasting my 2007 Warped Tour playlist all afternoon.
