Yearlong Song Challenge, Day 18: Laura

Prompt: "The oldest song you actually like"

Selected by Laura

"When You're Smiling"
Louis Armstrong
single, 1929

What's not to like about some Louis Armstrong? To make sure I was accurately sticking to the prompt, I did have to look up the year that this song was released. It was 1929, in case you're like me and you were wondering. It's crazy to think that this song is creeping up on 100 years old. Hearing songs like this always make me feel like I should be in a jazz club smoking a cigarette from my long cigarette holder and sipping something fancy. I know that's a movie perspective on how the roaring '20s were while ignoring the struggles caused by the Great Depression, but hey... it's nice to daydream!
