How do you pronounce "heaux"? Slow to figure out it's a neologism, now I see the point is the pun itself. Which augers poorly for my ability to really understand the text or subtext in this album, dense as it runs. Still, I recognize something unique happening.
Between the poetry is a collection of excellent beats and melodies, the reason I'd cue into R&B anyway. "Put It Down" and "Pick Up Your Feelings" are particularly fun, layered pieces that display the whole album in micro. Some 27 minutes of music, five minutes of story, a fun and impressive album all around.
