This album is near and dear to me. It's reminiscent of the time that Stef and I lived in a tiny studio in grad school, had no money, and spent our time drinking citywides and going to shows at First Unitarian Church. The "emo revival," or whatever you want to call it, is one of the few things I could point to and say "I was there." Side note: the album Funtitled by Spraynard is my favorite album of this scene/period in the Philly music scene.
The songwriting is the shining star here. The music isn't technically incredible, but Bren's voice combined with the completely honest (and often corny) lyrics make this a great relisten.
4.5/5
