You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere, Bridget
I have seen the Districts in concert several times (mostly opening up for Dr. Dog!) and it’s always been a treat. I can’t say that I’m a super fan, but whenever I see them I convince myself that after the concert I’m going to become a true fan! I was excited to actually download and listen to this new album before seeing them live when we’re finally allowed to gather in groups again.
The first two songs on the album were so melancholic and peaceful. Just pure easy listening vibing music, a treat. "Cheap Regrets" is rock pop in a good way. I loved "Dancer" with those horn runs, so much energy! "Sidecar" is a certified bop and I want to blast it with my windows down all summer.
Overall I loved the tone of the album, which was calm but also exciting and fun. It sounds like it would play really well throughout an indie romance movie. Can’t wait to see them perform it! 4/5 stars ✨💫✨💫
