Okay, this'll be the last Triple Bottom beer I have for a while. Time to rank the six we've gotten so far.
6. Stoop Fireflies (lemon hefeweizen)
5. Percy Pils (pilsner)
4. Mystic Hermit (elderflower pale ale)
3. Pothole Perils (Baltic porter)
2. Hetty Reckless (tasty Belgian)
1. Smooth Ride (vanilla porter)
Other notes: Stoop Fireflies was the only one that was straight-up bad; worst name was Percy Pils because it's unoriginal; best name was Stoop Fireflies because of the image it conjures; most fitting name is Smooth Ride for such a smooth beer; most pandering name is Hetty Reckless, name for an abolitionist for unexplained reasons; Triple Bottom has a cookie cake that I can't not mention after six posts about Triple Bottom, though it's not available for takeout as far as I can tell (please end soon, pandemic).

It wasn't planned, but I had a second beer today. Scratch that—needed a second beer today. Nothing about today was extraordinary. Like, it wasn't a difficult day. Willow and Martha were not better or worse behaved than they usually are. I didn't leave the house. There were no hardships. Except... lately I've been feeling like I'm going to fucking crack.
Before quarantine, there was a balance. I enjoyed time with the wife and kids, but I also had 40 hours a week of generally easy work at the office. This was not too much time away from the home. It was the perfect amount of time. Now the balance is all out of whack. I spend about 15 hours at the office per week, but those 15 hours pack in as much work as a 40 hour week normally would, so work isn't the "break" (ironically said or no) it once was.
And I'm thankful for the extra time at home while still getting paid, but there's no break there either. From 4 AM till 9 PM, it's constant, giving me maybe 30 minutes before bed. I'm not exaggerating about the time. I've tried waking up early to write on this blog, to watch a movie, something to relax and destress, but now Willow is waking up at 4 AM for whatever the fuck reason. Martha won't chill until a couple hours after Willow falls asleep. I can't escape.
The worst part is that this shouldn't even be something I need to "escape" from at all. That's an awful thing to even fucking think, let alone say on a goddamn blog. This my family. This is the best part of my life. But the longer this quarantine lasts, the shorter my rope becomes. Nowadays it's like only noon and I'm ready to break.
So yeah, I had another beer. And talked to Pam about this, anyway. I didn't want her to think that I look miserable because of her, or W. or M. It's not that. I'm not like This Is Us' Toby, not ready to meet the challenges of parenthood, and pissing off his wife in the process. I acknowledge that this makes me a shitty parent. I accept that. I'm not going to run away, or start pretending like I'm "going to crossfit" or whatever other bullshit Toby tried to pull on Kate.
I just... I just need to get my shit together. And I really don't know how to do it during house arrest. I'm getting extremely claustrophobic, whether I'm at home or at work. The second beer helped, but for like five minutes, and now I'm back to feeling that pit in my stomach and I'm not sure what else to do but keep at it.
