This is the rare exception where I've listened to the album a whole bunch of times before it was even requested as the Album of the Week. Coming in at a cool eleven songs in 37 minutes, how could you not just put this album on repeat?! Perfect for dishes, dancing, working out, cleaning, walking and... well, I guess that's literally all I've been able to do the past few weeks.
All of the songs on this album are catchy, simple, yet complex. There is no way not to bop along to "Don't Start Now," "Physical," "Love Again," and "Break My Heart." "Boys Will Be Boys" is probably my fave, but does it sound like it could be an act-closing number from a Broadway show? Or like one of those "pop star covers Broadway hit" songs? Hey, I like what I like.
Did I text that this was the "perfect pop record" the week it came out? Yes. Does that stand? I don't care, I'm enjoying it right now and it's a fun as hell album. Dua is the future of pop and I'm here for it.
(P.S. Would really like to review an album I don't love... ya know, to show I have range?)
