Prompt: "A song that you could see being in a local law firm's commercial"
Selected by Maeve
"You've Got a Friend in Me"
Randy Newman
Toy Story (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), 1996
I have many lawyer friends—two are even doing the SSC with us! But I cannot wrap my head around any of them having a local commercial, begging people for their services. At what point do you decide thaaaat's the kind of lawyer you wanna be? They all seem skeezy and like they're begging for money (which, to be fair, they are doing, but in exchange for work). I chose this song because it seems like the halfhearted promise every local law firm would use to lure customers into a false sense of trust and friendship. Is this too negative? I don't know, but tell me this isn't exactly what Jawn Morgan would do...
