I’ve never made pickles before, and so I made some pickles. I was
instructed to leave them in the fridge for 72 hours, so I didn’t
actually taste them yet. They are probably shit. Here is the recipe I used.
Alright, this is boring. Let’s try something else.
PICKLES IN POP CULTURE
This scene in The Andy Griffith Show, which, is this how corny TV was back then? Yikes.
This B-side from Dinosaur Jr., and it’s totally not a song I would expect from my limited experience with Dinosaur Jr.
This girl who is afraid of pickles on a classic(?) episode of Maury. Hmm.
This 1993 movie called The Pickle, which looks fucking
awful, stars possibly the hitman from Dumb and Dumber but I don’t care
enough to look it up, and whose trailer says the word "pickle" over and
over and over.
This song called "Motorcycle Song," by the deadpan master folk artist
and near-rhymer extraordinaire, Arlo Guthrie, about how he doesn’t want
a pickle.
This short movie from Veggie Tales about a fucking Bible Story except the enemy is a big pickle!
This 2016 movie called The Pickle Recipe, which actually doesn’t look that bad, especially when comparing it to the trailer for The Pickle.
This clip from Spongebob, which was a great show to watch when you’re drunk.
This skit from Portlandia, a show that makes me cringe and roll my eyes more than it makes me laugh, and this skit probably is not an exception.
This character... ah, fuck it, y’all know Tommy Pickles (and his
brother Dil, which is a pun I did not get when I was younger and do not
like now that I am older).
And the most recent entry into Pickle Pop Culture... Pickle Rick!
What’s your favorite pickle in pop culture? Write yours in the comments! Haha, just kidding, no one reads this.
Love,
Joey
