Album of the Week: Mclusky Do Dallas

We're right on the cusp of our first benchmark for the 2022 goals! Free Taco Bell for all our writers that wrote at least semi-consistently this year! It's so close! We need six more reviews this week to get to 300 for the year. I think we can do it.

Writing a review for a previous RC album counts toward the total too, so if that's your thing, check out the archives. Otherwise, continue on below to start listening and to start prepping that review that will help us reach our goal.

WHY NATE PICKED IT: "This is the 20-year anniversary of one of the most sneering, hateful, playful albums of modern rock, and we're gonna get Sunny and Joe (and no one else) to review it. This is also an album I love, so there's an opportunity to try and do psychic damage to me."

WHERE TO LISTEN FOR FREE: YouTube

READING SOME SHIT: The Quietus interviewed frontman Andrew Falkous in 2019.

PREVIOUSLY ON RECORD CLUB: Wikipedia tells me that Bully covered the magnificently-named "Lightsabre C0cksucking Blues" in concert. Which means Bully connects in like 1.5 ways at least, since frontwoman Alicia Bognanno interned at Steve Albini's studio Electrical Studio, and that's where and with whom Mclusky recorded Mclusky Do Dallas. Though since Bognanno is like 30 years old and this album is 20 years old, there is VERY LITTLE chance that she was interning there at that time.

Happy listening, fam! Have a great week!
